OUR SERVICES IN ENGLISH
Neuropsychology
The neuropsychological assessment addresses cognitive functioning and allows the exploration of different hypotheses such as ADHD or learning disabilities. The assessment makes it possible to clarify the diagnostic hypothesis and to direct the client towards adequate follow-up or treatment.
Psychology
Our psychologists provide psychotherapy services to children, adolescents or adults for a variety of needs, such as anxiety, depression or low self-esteem. Each individual is listened to, supported and guided according to their needs in order to optimize their functioning and personal well-being.
Psychoeducation
Our psychoeducators intervene in the context of various issues (e.g. anxiety, opposition, management of emotions, etc.) with the objectives of prevention and intervention. They support children and their families and offer them intervention strategies tailored to their needs.
WHY GET A NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT?
A neuropsychological assessment makes it possible to better understand the functioning of the different cognitive spheres of an individual, such as attention, memory, language, intelligence, etc. When a learning disability, attention deficit disorder, or other neuropsychological disorder is suspected, a neuropsychological evaluation can be used to clarify the diagnosis and orient towards the proper interventions or treatment.
WHAT IS THE
STANDARD PROCEDURE DURING A NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT?
Before starting the assessment, an initial interview is conducted with clients, whether it is an adult client or parents. This interview identifies information relevant to the developmental, medical, social, academic or professional history. Subsequently, the client is met two to three times for a total of 5 to 6 hours of evaluation. The evaluation is carried out using standardized tests, which make it possible to compare the functioning of the individual to the average. For assessments of children and adolescents, teachers or other professionals are sometimes contacted to learn about classroom behaviour or other challenges. Subsequently, the neuropsychologist analyzes the results and writes the report. The client or the parents are finally met for the presentation of the results and recommendations.
